With Guidebook in hand, explore Historic Woodland

This is more than just an invitation. Explore Historic Woodland is the title of a book collecting more than 400 houses and buildings that grace this charming community, which also serves as the county seat. The book presents ten different walking tours to eight distinctive neighborhoods, the remarkable downtown (itself listed on the Register of Historic Places), and folksy Dead Cat Alley. Many architectural styles are represented, from stately Ninteenth-Century Victorians to Craftsman, Bungalow, Tudor, Dutch Colonial, ever Moderne designs.

Woodland is a “Strong City”

The League of California Cities has profiled Woodland as part of the ongoing “Strong Cities, Strong State” campaign, which broadly promotes city success stories across California. Woodland was specifically recognized for initiatives such as downtown revitalization, senior opportunities, environmental conservation, literacy programs and community oriented policing.
