Moving to an Apartment

Once their freshmen year is over at UC Davis, many students move out to find apartments in Davis and live with 2-4 roommates. Rumor has it that apartments are often sold out by January during Winter quarter. That is not true and freshmen should not rush into signing a lease! It is important for you and your future roommates to figure out where you want to live and which place is best for you. North Davis

Everything you need, from food to grocery shopping is conveniently located here in North Davis and next to many of the apartments that may potentially be your location. It is a slightly older neighborhood, but very traditional and safe. It is also about a 10 minute bike ride to the UC Davis campus. Unitrans bus stops are located everywhere in North Davis!

Sites to see in North Davis

South Davis

Located south of the Interstate 80, South Davis is one of the newer areas in the city with rapidly growing facilities such as businesses and apartment complexes. It is a more open-field area in Davis with many parks and recreational activities to do. There is a bike path that does not run with the traffic of cars so it is very convenient and fast. It should take about 5-10 minutes to get to campus.

Located North of the Interstate 80, East Davis is east of J Street and north of East 8^th Street. It is on the edge of downtown Davis.
